Pentair advertising makes a splash at Target Field

Pentair, a $3.5 billion dollar global leader in the water solutions and technical products industries is the Official Sustainable Water Provider for the Minnesota Twins and the second inning featured sponsor at every home game. Pentair engaged Atomic Playpen to create an integrated advertising campaign to be leveraged througout Target Field during the second inning. Atomic Playpen created an integrated in-game experience for Pentair that leverages high-definition 3D animation. During the second inning, the animation plays on the massive video boards. The crowning feature of the experience is the new Pentair WaterCam. The video board screen fills with water and the live stadium cameras zoom in on Twins fans in various locations throughout the stadium. The innovative technology gives the appearance that the fans are underwater – complete with waves and a floating 3D baseball. Special lighting, color tinting and water distortion make the illusion very convincing. The 3D technology integrated into a live game camera feed with distortion effects is the first of its kind to be used in professional sports.

Atomic Playpen also created Pentair ads for behind home plate, on electronic billboards surrounding the field, and on video monitors throughout the stadium. There are also print ads in game-day programs featuring a quick response (QR) codes—barcode that can be read by camera phones—designed to look like a baseball diamond. Atomic Playpen digital agency services included: Strategy, Script Writing, Storyboard, Illustration, Design, 3D Animation, Print and Video Production.
